SUMMARY:Arlington Interfaith Vigil Against ICE Cruelty
DESCRIPTION:This interfaith public ritual will lift up the memory of those whose lives have been taken unjustly by our own country—a matter of sorrow and shame\, and of supreme importance to call out in this national emergency. Together we will honor the over 50 people who have died by the hands of ICE or in ICE custody since 2025 along with the almost 11\,000 people taken in by ICE in Virginia\, 76% having no criminal record. \nWe will gather to hear from faith voices proclaiming the importance of justice and welcome\, and we will remember the names of those we have lost. An optional procession with signs with the names and faces of those who have died will follow. Signs will be provided. Come to join in community and act in public for what is right.

In this lively\, interactive 75-minute workshop (it flies by—we promise)\, you’ll learn how to kick off conversations with confidence\, warmth\, and maybe even a little humor. SUMMARY:No Kings Day\, October 18
DESCRIPTION:We are so excited about our upcoming No Kings Day Event! \nOur route has changed slightly\, because we are getting NATIONAL ATTENTION! We have been asked to march a few extra blocks up Pennsylvania\, where they can get an aerial view of our LOVE PARADE! Our location for our peaceful day of action will be at the Smithsonian Metro (1100 Jefferson Dr SW\, Washington\, DC 20004)\, where we will meet at 10:30 a.m. READ CAREFULLY!\nDescription\nIn America\, we don’t put up with would-be kings. The president thinks his rule is absolute. But in America\, we don’t have kings\, and we won’t back down against chaos\, corruption\, and cruelty. Grow our movement and join us. \n Logistics & Parade to the NO KINGS Rally in DC – We of Action VA  \n📍 Meeting Point: 10:30 am at the Smithsonian Metro exit (look for over 160 State flags\, Virginia Flags\, banners\, and the We of Action banner on the Mall near 1100 Jefferson Dr.SW). We will get in Parade formation on the mall. Each flag will have 10-15 people. We will fill in as people arrive.  \n🚶Parade Route (Begins 11 am):  \n\nAt 11 a.m.\, we will start by singing Grand Old Flag as we lift our 160 flags high. After we sing\, we will start our march! We will be joyfully singing the entire time!\nUp the Mall (towards the Capitol)\nLeft on 7th St.\nLeft on Constitution Ave. (passing the National Archives with our 50 State flags and banners\, stopping to sing This Land is Your Land at the National Archives). Flag holders and banner holders will walk up the steps. Everyone else stays on Constitution Ave.\, and we will sing.\nWe will then march to 10th Ave and take a right turn towards Pennsylvania Ave.\nWe will take a right turn on Pennsylvania Ave. and will walk just past the National Archives\, where we will join other Virginians and sing one last song;  Imagine together.\n\nIt is about a 30-minute slow walk. After our stop at the rear of the Archives\, we ask all flags and banners be returned to our YELLOWJACKETS (folks in the neon safety vests). Then feel free to walk East down Penn. Ave.\, closer towards the National Rally on Pennsylvania and 3rd Ave.\, which is from 12-3 pm. \n👕 What to Wear and Bring: Virginia gear encouraged\, as we are hoping to engage Virginia Voters as well! Indivisible National recommends wearing yellow. \n*For generations\, people around the world have used color to show collective strength in the face of oppression. Movements around the world have used yellow as a symbol of nonviolent resistance. Ours is no different: We align ourselves with this historic context while taking a step into our shared future. *Think of it as a shared symbol. It does not need to be an entire outfit. A bandana\, a hat\, a shirt — any bright pop of yellow will work perfectly.*  \nWe also encourage inflatable costumes if you have them\, in solidarity with our Portland friends! Pack lightly\, but PLEASE bring a water bottle\, snacks\, and your creative protest sign. Don’t worry if you do not have a sign\, because we will have over 160 flags and banners that we will need help carrying! \n🕛 Rally: National NO KINGS Rally runs 12:00 – 3:00 pm\, Pennsylvania and 3rd Ave. \nPlaylist: Here is a link to a Song Sheet of lyrics that we will be singing from. Please download or screenshot ahead of time: (Can be copied and pasted into a web browser if clicking the above link does not work) Wofasongs.tiiny.site  \nHow to prepare (private event details) \n📢 How to Prepare for Your Event: ✅ Bring signs or props → Make your message visible! ✅ Recruit friends → The more people\, the more power. ✅ Record everything → Post photos/videos with #NoKings Watch this video: for protest best practices! \n👉 Use these graphics to change your social media pictures to the No Kings logo. \nWe want No Kings to be everywhere. If people see their friends and family on social media as a part of the movement\, they will be more likely to join themselves. \nA core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind\, including those legally permitted\, should not be brought to events. \nWE LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU AND THANK YOU FOR JOINING OUR LOVE PARADE!
