SUMMARY:WofA Sunday Bridge Brigades
DESCRIPTION:Join us for our Sunday Bridge Brigades\, sharing important messages to vehicles below and on the bridge roadway. We provide the message\, you provide the energy. You may bring your own signs if you want\, but please make them G-rated. Come for the honks\, the joy and the community! They are held on the 21st N bridge\, close to MOM’s. You can use 2100 21st St N in your GPS. Also\, if you are on Veitch\, passing MOM’s on your right\, Veitch turns into 21st and the bridge is in the next block. There is parking on the bridge and in nearby neighborhoods. This a local Indivisible event! A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.

SUMMARY:WOFA VA Monthly Meeting + Film Night 'My Omaha'
DESCRIPTION:This month we’re doing something different. Instead of our usual meeting\, we’ll watch the documentary My Omaha together and then join a live Zoom conversation with the film’s director\, Nick Beaulieu. \nAbout the film: After finishing journalism school\, Nick Beaulieu went home to Omaha\, Nebraska\, to document the city’s growing racial justice movement. At the same time\, he tried to reconnect with his father\, Randy\, a committed Trump supporter. That effort became more urgent when Randy was diagnosed with stage-4 cancer. Community activist Leo Louis II guides Nick through Omaha’s long history of activism. The film follows a son and a city as they work through family conflict\, political and racial division\, and the hard search for common ground. \nAt a time when so many of us are struggling to talk across political lines\, including with people we love\, this film is a powerful starting point for conversation. \n🎬 Watch the trailer: https://www.pbs.org/video/my-omaha-trailer/ \nSchedule \n6:30: Gather and welcome 6:45: Screening of My Omaha (85 minutes) 8:15: Live Zoom Q&A and discussion with director Nick Beaulieu \nCome with your questions and reflections\, and bring a friend! All are welcome.
