To register online with the Virginia Department of Elections click here and fill out the required information.
To register in person, locate your local registration office here.
To register by mail download and fill out the voter registration form here and mail it to the address listed on the fom. En espanol

Check or update your voter registration status 
You can check your voter registration status with the Virginia Department of Elections here.  After you click on the link, skip over the registration button and fill out the online form.  Then:

• If you need to update your address or other personal data, click on the box “I want to update my voter record.”
• If you want to vote absentee, check the box “I want to vote absentee.”
• If your residence has not changed since the last time you voted, find the address of your polling place, scroll down to “Polling Place” and click on the plus sign.
• To learn what the ballot will look like and to access web links to the political candidates, scroll down to “My Ballot” and click the plus sign.  This includes links to campaign websites for the various Democratic and Republican candidates, including those for Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and Attorney General. 
• To find the number of your district in the VA House of Delegates, scroll down to the section labeled “Districts” and look at the 3^rd line within that section.  If your VA district delegate is not listed on your primary ballot, that means there is no contested primary race between two or more candidates in either the Democratic or Republican party.

Para registrarte electrónicamente con el Departamento de Elecciones, consulta aquí (en inglés) y completa la información necesaria.

Para regístrate en persona, ubica la oficina de registro local al consultar aquí (en inglés).

Para registrarte por correo, descarga y completa el formulario para el registro del votante aquí (en inglés) y envíalo por correo a la dirección indicada en el formulario.

*¡Si te registras como votante en Virginia por primera vez, considera compartir tu experiencia a través de los medios sociales!

Verifica o actualiza tu información en el registro de votación

Puedes verificar tu información en el registro de votación con el Departamento de Elecciones de Virginia al consultar aquí (instrucciones en inglés). Después de presionar en el enlace, (…) localiza el formulario debajo del título “registered voter” (votante registrada/registrado) y complétalo electrónicamente. Luego:

-Si necesitas actualizar tu dirección u otra información personal, presiona en el título que dice en inglés “I want to update my voter record.”

-Si quieres votar en ausencia, consulta el título que dice en inglés “I want to vote absentee.”

-Si tu residencia no ha cambiado desde la última vez que votaste, ubica la dirección de tu centro de votación buscando el título en inglés “Polling Place” y haz un click en el signo más (+).

-Para informarte cómo es o luce la balota de votación y para tener acceso a los enlaces en la “web” de las/los candidatas(os) políticas(os), busca el título en inglés “My Ballot” y haz un click en el signo más (+). Encontrarás información sobre las/los candidatas(os) Demócratas y Republicanos incluyendo aquellos que están postulando para ser elegidas(os) como Gobernador, Teniente Gobernador y Fiscal General.  

-Para encontrar el número de tu distrito en la Cámara de Delegados de Virginia, busca la sección que dice en inglés “Districts” que está en la tercera línea dentro de esa sección. Si la delegada o el delegado de tu distrito en Virginia no está en la lista de tu balota de votación para las Elecciones Primarias, esto significa que no existe una lucha en la carrera hacia las Elecciones Primarias entre dos ó más candidatos ya sean del Partido Demócrata o del Republicano.
