Georgia Alliance for Progress
31st Swing Left has established an ActBlue link to the Georgia Alliance for Progress. The Alliance funds organizations throughout the state whose mission is to increase voter registration and civic engagement.  Because the Alliance is familiar with the situation on the ground and the organizations doing the work, it is in a great position to allocate resources to support activities that will have the most impact at any given time.  Currently, one of the biggest priorities is providing support for canvassing. The organizations funded by the Georgia Alliance for Progress include:  New Georgia Project, Black PAC, Black Male Voter Project, Black Voters Matter, Black Men Build, Asian American Advocacy Fund, NAACP, Georgia Equality, GALEO, Mijente, Poder Latinx, Faith in Public Life, and Georgia Conservation Voters.    https://secure.actblue.com/donate/31ststc4garunoff?refcode=outreach

Climate Mayors – On the Front Lines – Innovative Initiatives for Climate Resilience
Thursday, December 17th, 7:30-8:30 p.m.
In 2014, mayors from across the country have formed Climate Mayors, “a bipartisan, peer-to-peer network committed to taking ambitious action to meet each of their cities’ current climate goals, and work towards achieving  Paris climate targets.” Over 400 strong, these mayors remain committed, despite the cost of combating Covid 19, to continue to work on energy and infrastructure and, more than ever, the need for a just and equitable transition that includes all sectors of a city’s population.  Nancy Najarian will discuss their efforts to meet their goals for clean energy and energy efficiency, and new initiatives to make U.S. cities resilient for all residents. It is a story of mayors on the front lines:  they do not give up; they innovate and inspire! Join us for a 30 minute presentation and a discussion. Sponsored by the Climate & Clean Energy Working Group, Virginia Grassroots Coalition.  Contact shutlersharon@gmail.com for more information.
