Be Brave Day – Chalk Up Your Neighborhood!
Be Brave Day was proposed by The Visibility Brigade for the “message to become a mantra of hope and determination.” To celebrate Be Brave Day, chalk sidewalks in your neighborhood in front of your home, local restaurants and schools with artwork and written messages of how to be brave in this difficult time. Ask your friends, family and neighbors to chalk too! So, chalk your favorite example of how or why we need to be brave in words or pictures. It can be general or specific: vote, push back, protect healthcare, solidarity with immigrants. You get the idea 💡. Take a picture and send. If comfortable, feel free to include the “chalker” in the picture.
And a few pointers for success:
1. Chalk your message or artwork on your own property and public property. (ie: Democracy Needs Your Courage; Silence is Compliance etc…
2. Tag with #BeBrave when posting to social media.
3 . You can Direct Message WofA’s Social Media accounts or send your pics to WofA at
(318) 470-1837
4. G-rated!

National Women’s Political Caucus calling for VA HoD Candidates
Wednesdays, 6:00pm – 8:00pm (thru October 30th)
National Women’s Political Caucus in conjunction with the Bay Area Coalition is hosting phonebanks for NWPC-VA endorsed candidates every Wednesday from 6pm to 8pm. We have added a dialer which allows us to leave messages so calling is much more efficient without people feeling like they are on a runaway horse. Since our dialer leaves messages, a single person can effectively use it and make calls; it takes about 25 seconds to get a connection even if you are the only caller. Our Mobilize link is HERE

Before You Vote: Check the Good Governance Scorecard.
With Election Day fast approaching, have the candidates running in your District committed to Good Governance principles which support transparency, accountability, and protecting democracy itself? Check out the Virginia Good Governance Scorecard (vagoodgovscorecard.org). Voters are encouraged to go into the scorecard, put in their addresses and find out if candidates running in their districts have committed publicly to good governance. The scorecard also allows voters to contact campaigns directly and ask them to complete the scorecard. Check out which candidates have stepped up—and which have not, and let them know that you care about candidates who support fair representation and equal voice to all citizens.
