Zoom Training on VA State Budget Process and Advocacy

Virginia’s next state budget will need to take into consideration massive cuts and expensive regulatory requirements at the federal level that will dramatically reduce funds for and access to health, food security, and education. Grassroots advocacy during the January-March 2026 General Assembly session will be important to informing final budget decisions. The training will be led by Freddy Mejia, Policy Director, The Commonwealth Institute for Fiscal Analysis. Luisa Boyarski will serve as moderator. Sponsors: The Virginia Grassroots Coalition’s Legislative Working Group and the We of Action VA (WofAVA) Abolitionist Working Group. [Please note:  We request that you not share this invitation publicly because we would like to limit the audience to those who are active in legislative advocacy and known within  existing networks.  Therefore if you are spreading the word please use private channels] RSVP HERE

Want to sing holiday carols with “updated” lyrics of resistance? Join the WOFA Caroling Capers as we pop up at malls and street corners near you with “I’m Dreaming of Universal Healthcare!” “Jingle Bells, Corruption Smells.” No singing voice? No problem. Just come, have fun and remind our neighbors of what joy and kindness look like.  Email Maria at [email protected]. Maria and Bob K. look forward to organizing a rehearsal or two and then off we go in December.  We also want to launch a longer-term people power choir depending on interest.
