Pack The Room In Support of Fairfax County Immigrants

On May 14, the House Committee on the Judiciary is holding a hearing that seeks to single out Fairfax County and fuel anti-immigrant narratives built on misinformation and division. Fairfax leaders have been called to testify at a hearing regarding the county’s Trust Policy, which protects immigrant communities by restricting collaboration with ICE and ensuring that local resources are focused on public safety. This hearing is part of a broader, nationwide effort to attack local policies that support immigrant communities—an effort that is increasingly placing Virginia, and Fairfax County in particular, in its crosshairs. At this hearing, we expect rhetoric rooted in bigotry — not facts. We cannot let misinformation nor racism define what safety looks like in our community. Now is the time to show up, speak out, and stand together. Join Fairfax County residents and allies to rally and pack the hearing room in support of our immigrant neighbors. Together, we will show that our community rejects misinformation and stands united for dignity, inclusion, and safety for all.

Mutual Aid

An important part of caring for our immigrant neighbors is ensuring they have the resources necessary to survive.  We have several mutual aid requests that have come through trusted partners.

  • Ms. O is a migrant facing eviction following job loss and ongoing medical issues.  To help Ms. O and her family, please donate at https://gofund.me/de0f157e4.
  • Miss Grace’s husband was detained in February, leaving her to provide and care for their two children.  To help Grace, please donate here.
  • Mr. N is a longtime Fairfax resident who is now unable to find stable employment and is struggling to pay bills.  To assist Mr. N, please donate here.
  • Donate to commissary funds to support detainees and their families through La ColectiVA here
