Updates to LIS system – Familiarize yourself before the 2025 Session Starts
Everyone who is interested in the work of the General Assembly should take the LIS training. As you will recall, LIS stands for Legislative Information System. LIS is vital to tracking bills, observing and virtually attending committee meetings, watching floor sessions, and more. The LIS site has been redesigned. Everyone, including those who are familiar with the old LIS, should take the training. There are two types, for new users and for existing users. You can also review all the training materials from a link on the training page. Here is the link to register for one of the trainingsessions: https://help.lis.virginia.gov/liab/index.asp. Do not be dissuaded by the heading, “Lobbyist in a Box”! Look at the left hand column for the training information in red and click on the bulleted “Training Schedule.” That will take you to the list of dates for new and existing users. Do not wait to sign up! Those seats disappear fast.
