September 17
National Voter Registration Day
National Voter Registration Day is the country’s largest single-day voter registration drive and will next take place on September 17, 2024! As many as 1 in 4 eligible Americans are not registered to vote. Each year, millions of Americans are walled off from the democratic process due to easily solvable issues such as missing a registration deadline or failing to update a registration after moving. Please ask friends and family to #CheckVoterRegistration – confirm they are registered and know their polling place at: iwillvote.com

September 20 7:30am – 9:00am
First Day of Early Voting with Arlington Dems!
Join Arlington Democrats to celebrate the first day of early voting! Virginia is one of the first states to start voting; let’s show the rest of the Commonwealth and the country that we’re fired up and ready to go! As always – please remind friends and family to #VoteEarly. Sign Up Here

WofA Membership Meeting
Hear from Sean Montero, Chair of VA Beach Dem Committee on their plans for this must win section of Virginia and what we can do to help. Updates on canvasses; phonebanks; postcards, how to procure a coveted Harris-Walz yard sign and more! Please bring a friend and possibly a dish to pass or beverages!

Tuesday, September 24 6:00pm – 8:00pm   Washington DC
Anderson Clayton and the North Carolina Democratic Party in DC

Winning North Carolina would cut off Trump’s path to the presidency. Not only that, but they also have: a DCCC targeted race with Congressman Don Davis to defend; a Governor’s race to win: a key State Supreme Court race to win and key state legislative races to win to break Republican supermajorities. Truly I think investing in the North Carolina Democrats is one of the most important decisions we can make this year. Tickets Here

Just a Few Thoughts from Our Friends at the Grassroots Connector:
1.Vote on Day One — Find out here when your state allows early voting and beat the rush. Host an Early Voting party at the polls. Put your party on the map here.
2. Donate down ballot. Face it, Harris-Walz is swimming in money, $540 million and counting. Put your money where it can back them up by taking back the House and holding the Senate.  Here are very close House races. For Senate, Montana Dem incumbent Jon Tester is in the fight of his life.
3. Use social media wisely. Post and repost upbeat messages about US, refuse to post or repost anything about HIM. He’s “not a serious person.”
4. Ask friends and family — Are you registered? When will you vote? Please include this with your question: go to iwillvote.com
5. Put up a yard sign — here’s where to get one.

Interesting….!
There’s a surge in voter registration among key demographics ahead of November’s election. According to the data firm TargetSmart, registration is up more than 175% among young Black women. “175% is almost tripling of registration rates among this specific group. You just don’t see that sort of thing happen in elections normally,” says TargetSmart senior adviser Tom Bonier. More Here
