National Voter Registration Day
National Voter Registration Day is the country’s largest single-day voter registration drive and will next take place on September 17, 2024! As many as 1 in 4 eligible Americans are not registered to vote. Each year, millions of Americans are walled off from the democratic process due to easily solvable issues such as missing a registration deadline or failing to update a registration after moving. Please ask friends and family to #CheckVoterRegistration – confirm they are registered and know their polling place at: iwillvote.com

Please join our local candidates, Julius D “JD” Spain for County Board, Zuraya Tapia-Hadley and Kathleen Clark for School Board along with Congressman Don Beyer (7:30 am) and Senator Tim Kaine (8:30 am) to celebrate the first day of early voting! Virginia is one of the first states in the nation to open voting for our 2024 Presidential Election. Vote Day 1 Happy Hour – Courthaus Social, Arlington
Vote on Day 1 of Early Voting and join fellow WofA’s for Happy Hour at Courthaus Social! Early Voting saves campaigns and volunteers time & money that can then be focused on less reliable voters and less reliable districts. If you can’t vote on Day 1, please check your calendar and make a plan to vote early at your earliest opportunity, AND spend the next 45 days getting at least one more person to vote (or make a plan) every day!

Absentee Ballots Mailed Out – Return them to Your  Registrar ASAP!
Per Susan Beals, Virginia’s Commissioner of Elections (Youngkin appointee), she is very concerned about Mail-In Ballots being delayed by USPS. If you absolutely have to vote absentee, please make sure to fill it out completely and bring it to your nearest ballot drop box or mail as soon as possible. We are calling Black voters in North Carolina, encouraging them to vote and providing resources that make it easier to check where they are registered. Beginning phone banker?
