WofA No Kings 3 Bridge Brigade

We would love to see you at one of our No Kings 3 Bridge Brigade. We put important messages on bridges, visible to drivers below as peaceful, lawful and joyful protests. Building community and being joyful flies in the face of those hoping we become afraid and isolated. Time and time again history has shown that as the numbers coming out to peacefully protest rises, attempts at authoritarianism cannot hold. To join us, select your preferred bridge from the link HERE (scroll down). You will receive information and updates by email, so don’t forget to check the email you use to register. See you on a bridge!

REDISTRICTING – Vote YES

Get Involved in the VoteYES! Campaign

Join grassroots organizations across Virginia, and Virginians for Fair Elections (VAFE) as we mobilize communities across the Commonwealth to Vote YES! Explore the actions and resources below to learn how you can get involved and make an impact.

URGENT! Vote YES – Important Actions

Our biggest hurdle isn’t support – it’s awareness. Many “YES” voters simply don’t know about the referendum, why it matters, or when and where to vote. They’re out there – we just need to reach them. The most effective ways to do that right now are: Canvassing (including no-contact literature drops) and Phonebanking.

These efforts are working. Canvassing has been especially impactful with “friendly doors,” and the Center for Common Ground’s dialer makes phonebanking easy and efficient. Every conversation matters. Every door matters. Please sign up for a shift – or two, or three!

Vote YES Campaign Needs Our Representatives Now! 1 Minute Action!

The Redistricting Amendment is on the ballot April 21 and the campaign needs attention. We are reaching out directly to our Virginia elected representatives to flag three specific challenges — signage, phone banking, and canvassing coordination – and to ask for their leadership Click Here to Take Action.

International Transgender Day of Visibility

Did you know that March 31st is the International Transgender Day of Visibility? Started in 2010, this day is an opportunity to affirm the existence and value of our transgender friends and neighbors and to learn more about their experiences. Showing up as an ally for this community is so important, especially now as they are under direct attack from the Trump administration, which seeks to deny their existence. It’s a beautiful thing to know people who are different from us and to learn from each other! There are many resources to inform yourself about the trans community and a few good places to start are: HRC | Trans Day of Visibility and https://christopherstreetproject.org/ and https://www.equalityarlington.org/.  See April 8th’s event: Arlington Trans Youth Quilt Unveiling & Reception at Central Library below.

Wednesday, April 1st –  10 a.m.

Birthright Citizenship Rally – U.S. Supreme Court.

It will focus on having conversations with voters (be it friends and neighbors or via phonebanking or canvassing) regarding the April 21 redistricting election.

After the workshop, we’ll offer local attendees an opportunity to practice their skills by canvassing with Virginians for Fair Election in Northern Virginia the following Saturday, April 11. Sign up on Mobilize here

IMMIGRATION

Important Updated Immigration Resources!

More than 300 Arlingtonians have been abducted by ICE.

These are our neighbors. They work and shop at our businesses. They worship with us at our churches, mosques, and temples. Their kids go to APS with our kids and play with them at our parks and playgrounds. Take action to protect and support our immigrant neighbors – sign up for our Direct Action Team HERE

Support our Immigrant Communities Training

The New Virginia Majority (NVM) Solidarity Committee connects Virginia residents with citizenship or documentation privileges who want to support immigrant communities with meaningful action opportunities. First, you fill out this form so you can be safely vetted, then you will be given sign-up links to trainings

WofA’s Bystander Guide & Zine

WofA has produced an excellent video and zine that act as a bystander’s guide for our community allies here in northern Virginia. This video is NOT intended to be legal advice. Please see our immigration page on our website for more information and resources HERE

Changes to USPS Postmarking – Impact on Mail-In Ballots, Tax Returns and More – one more reason to vote Early In-Person!

The USPS recently changed its postmark policy (late 2025) so that most mail is now postmarked at regional processing centers, not when dropped off, meaning the date on the stamp can be days after mailing, potentially causing late penalties for tax/legal deadlines. To get a true date-of-mailing postmark, you must go inside a Post Office and request a free manual postmark at the counter; otherwise, mail time-sensitive items much earlier or use online/drop-box options to avoid issues.
