WofA’s Bystander Guide & Zine

WofA has produced an excellent video and zine that act as a bystander’s guide for our community allies here in northern Virginia. This video is NOT intended to be legal advice.

Mutual Aid

An important part of caring for our immigrant neighbors is ensuring they have the resources necessary to survive.  We have several mutual aid requests that have come through trusted partners.

  • David was detained by ICE in July 2025 and has just been released after 10 months in detention.  Without his income, his wife Elena had to send their 2 year old to live with family.  Help David and Elena get back on their feet and reunite with their daughter by donating here.
  • Luis and his family could still benefit from help with living expenses and legal fees.  Please donate here.
  • Nat is taking care of her 4 kids ages ages 6 months to 10 years old after her husband, the family income earner, was deported to their home country.  Any amount will help this family survive.  Please donate here.
  • Mrs. Grace is still struggling after her husband was deported in April, as she balances taking care of their children with working.  To help Grace, please donate here.
  • Donate to commissary funds to support detainees and their families through La ColectiVA here.

CALLS TO ACTION

Vote with your Wallet

As a corporation, Hilton has repeatedly welcomed ICE agents to stay in their hotels, over the needs of their community-based managers, franchise owners, and employees. As you plan your summer travel, consider alternatives to the Hilton brand of hotels or ways you can reach out and directly let them know how you feel as a customer. Learn more and take action here.
