New – Neighbor2Neighbor is Live – Canvass in Your Neighborhood!

Indivisible is excited to announce that Neighbor 2 Neighbor (N2N) is launching TODAY! That’s right, on October 16th you will be able to access the names and addresses of like-minded voters in your community that can increase our voter turnout and our odds at a blue trifecta here in the Commonwealth! You don’t even need to download an app. Links will come to you through text and email. Face-to-face conversations with voters are proven to be one of the most powerful tools we have for turning out progressives—and Neighbor2Neighbor makes it easier than ever. This program connects you with like-minded households right in your neighborhood for quick, friendly conversations that make a real impact. For More Info and Sign Up, GO HERE

Easy Way to Make a Difference on Election Day – Sample Ballots!

Unlike the top of the ticket, down-ballot races do not list a candidate’s political affiliation (D, R, or I). While most voters recognize names at the top of the ticket, many are unfamiliar with local candidates – or unaware of which ones are endorsed by the Virginia Democratic Party. That’s why we’re asking for your continued support of WofA’s Power PAC. We’re asking for volunteers to help distribute sample ballots at local precincts for our Power Pac candidates. This is a great, easy way to make an impact on Election Day:

  • Two volunteers per shift — bring a friend!
  • Shifts are just 2 hours long.
  • Locations are relatively nearby, and there are multiple time slots available.

Two-plus weeks into the government shutdown, Republicans are still unwilling to negotiate extension to ACA healthcare subsidies in the budget. OMB director Russel Vought and Republicans are using this as an opportunity to fire even more federal workers with their goal of targeting an additional 10,000 for layoffs, including nearly all special education services employees from the Department of Education.                                                                          Call: Fund Healthcare in the budget ↗

Call: Protect workers in the Dept of Education ↗

Meanwhile in the House, Speaker Mike Johnson has kept the House out of session in order to delay seating Arizona’s new representative from the 7th Congressional district, Adelita Grijalva. Why this matters: Grijalva would be the final name needed to force a vote on releasing the full Epstein files.

Call: Demand Rep. Grijalva be sworn in ↗

National Women’s Political Caucus calling for VA HoD Candidates

National Women’s Political Caucus in conjunction with the Bay Area Coalition, is hosting phone banks for NWPC-VA endorsed candidates every Wednesday from 6pm to 8pm. We have added a dialer that allows us to leave messages, so calling is much more efficient without people feeling like they are on a runaway horse. Since our dialer leaves messages, a single person can effectively use it and make calls; it takes about 25 seconds to get a connection, even if you are the only caller. Our Mobilize link is HERE

A CALL TO ACTION ON CAMPAIGN FINANCE:

Do your elected officials represent democracy, or the donors who fund them?
Join us in calling on the elected local officials in your jurisdiction to put people before corporations and wealthy donors. Across Virginia, activists are urging local councils and boards to pass resolutions supporting stronger campaign finance laws. Right now, Virginia has some of the weakest campaign finance rules in the country—but communities are speaking up. Leesburgand Blacksburg have already passed resolutions unanimously. Your community could be next—if you raise your voice. Click below if you live in these jurisdictions.
