Dear WOFA,
On behalf of We of Action, we extend our deepest gratitude for your incredible support and dedication during our “Hands Across Arlington” / WOFA Visibility Brigade events on June 14, 2025.
Because of YOU:
- We successfully created a peaceful human chain across 5.2 miles of Langston Boulevard, amplifying our message of unity and democratic values.
- We greeted thousands of commuters on over 20 bridges in Arlington with messages of support for our veterans and no kings in the U.S.A.
- Your generous donations provided essential materials, helped fund our Care Bear and Captain bags, and allowed us to focus on turnout rather than fundraising on the day. Still want to contribute? Donate here
- From concept to reality, your efforts and support—especially the countless hours creating letters, contacting volunteers, and sharing with your networks—were instrumental.
- The variety of handmade creative signs, was striking and visible; and hopefully a good outlet for your brain during these troubled times!
Special Thank You To:
- Thank you to our WOFA Communication Team Julie Hanson Swanson and Chris Adair for getting our message to the press, and getting our message out on Social Media!
- Thanks to our WOFA Rally Logistics Team led by Mark Teel for scouting out locations, and making sure everything we needed, including the VIPS were there!
- Thank you Captains and Care Bears for taking the ACLU training, providing more snacks and water and being where you needed to be!
- A special thanks to our speakers J.D. Spain, Aaron Rouse, Bethany Sutton and Victor Selgado, who delivered powerful, moving messages that inspired our participants and passersbys.
- A heartfelt thank you to Deputy Chief LaTashsa Chamberlin of the ACPD, who was in constant contact with me during the day and thanked all of us for obeying the laws. I thank you for obeying the laws!
- A huge shoutout to our LETTER MAKERS who made over 284 letters! Lisa Culver, Maria Powers, Laura Gutierrez, Rose Fabia, Lisa Nava, Anne Duquay, Essie, and so many more!
- Thanks to Nancy White, Ashley Hammond, Moe Bryant, Elaine Evans, and Jim Karcher for being Command Central during the day and the days leading up to the event!
- And finally, thanks to Rose Fabia and my incredible daughter Lily Pond for pulling all dayers, all nighters, and helping me respond to over 3,400 e-mails, signal chats, text messages, Facebook Messenger, etc. This event would not have been successful without your passion, dedication, and love of community.
My apologies if I am forgetting anyone! There were so many DOERS! Thank you!
Our collective efforts reaffirmed the power of a peaceful protest and community action. We hope you feel as proud as we do—we absolutely could not have done this without you. Please consider joining We of Action or your Local Indivisible Group. Everyone can DO SOMETHING! Learn more on our Linktree! Please vote today in your local Democratic Primary. Tomorrow, on June 18th, please attend/support WofA’s Arlington fundraiser for Stacey Carroll – one our amazing Adopt a Candidates. In Solidarity,
